Professional career:

▪ Chairman of the Bulgarian Canoe-Kayak Federation.

▪ Municipal councilor for two consecutive terms/ 2015 – 2019 and 2019 – 2023/. During the second term he was deputy chairman of the Plovdiv Municipal Council

▪ He worked in the private sector. From 2000 to 2007 he was the assistant coach of the Bulgarian National Canoe-Kayak Team and from 2007 he was the senior coach

▪ Has five World and one European titles in single canoe, won in 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1997.

▪ Olympic champion, winner of 2 gold medals at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992. He also won a bronze medal at the Seoul Olympics in 1988.
